Time to Talk Day 2025: Starting Conversations, Changing Lives

Every conversation about mental health matters. On Time to Talk Day 2025 (Thursday 6 February 2025), we’re reminded that even the smallest chats can make a big difference.

Whether it’s a quick check-in with a friend, an open discussion at work, or a heart-to-heart with a loved one, talking about mental health helps break stigma and build supportive communities.

Why Talking Matters

Mental health struggles are more common than we think, yet stigma and silence can make it harder for people to seek support. By encouraging open and honest conversations, we create an environment where no one feels alone in their struggles.

How to Get Involved

You don’t have to be an expert to start a conversation. Here are some simple ways to take part:

  • Check in with someone – A simple “How are you?” can go a long way.

  • Start a workplace discussion – Organize a coffee break or a team chat to share experiences.

  • Use social media – Share a post about why mental health conversations matter using #TimeToTalk.

  • Join a local event – Many communities are hosting activities to encourage discussions.

Keep the Conversation Going

Time to Talk Day is just the start. Making mental health a regular topic in our lives helps to normalize it and ensures people get the support they need. Keep listening, keep sharing, and keep the conversation open.
